ABOUT THE INVESTMENT

Hollywood Bowl is the UK's largest ten-pin bowling business, operating 55 large, high-quality bowling centres, predominantly located in leisure or retail parks.

We bought Hollywood Bowl in 2014 with a plan to accelerate organic growth through a site refurbishment and roll-out programme, as well as through M&A. We brought forward and expanded the organic growth investment programme, developed a new site pipeline and completed the add-on acquisition of Bowlplex, one of two targets we had identified prior to making our investment. These actions more than doubled earnings in two years and created a strong platform for further growth.

We exited the investment in two stages, with an IPO in 2016 and a placing in 2017.
