Epiris marks ten years of discipline, conviction and partnership

POSTED 22 June 2026

Epiris is pleased to mark the tenth anniversary of the firm and our fifteenth year working together as a team.

We founded Epiris in 2016 with the conviction that we could invest in fundamentally strong mid-sized businesses that are being held back by complexity; and that we could bring capital, insight and ambition to solve their complexity and unlock their potential. A decade later, our conviction is stronger than ever.

Drawing on roots that stretch back through Electra Partners to 1976, Epiris addresses a need in the UK mid-market for an experienced and disciplined investor to engage with complexity. Over the past ten years, we have done exactly that, building great businesses that deliver outstanding returns to our investors. In turn, this has earned us an investment track record and relationships with some of the world’s leading investors in which we take great pride.

“When we founded Epiris, we had a clear thesis and a differentiated investment strategy,” said Bill Priestley, Managing Partner. “Our focus has served us exceptionally well and, while we have clearly evolved, that focus has remained constant. We have consistently sought out fundamentally strong businesses, partnered with ambitious management teams and supported them in achieving their full potential.”

“One consistent thread across our investments is complexity – and that is where we differentiate ourselves,” said Owen Wilson, Chief Investment Partner. “We do not shy away from challenging situations; we see them as opportunities. Our focus is on fundamentally strong companies where the right capital, insight and partnership can help unlock the next phase of growth.”

At the same time as executing our investment strategy, we have built the capabilities, systems and processes needed to deliver sustainable and repeatable performance.

“As we look ahead, we remain incredibly excited by the opportunities in front of us,” said Ian Wood, Head of the Investment Team. “We learn from our experiences and have taken care to build institutional-grade systems in our own firm. We believe our strategy, experience and team position us strongly for the future.”

We remember with pride and gratitude Alex Fortescue, our friend and colleague whose belief in Epiris and passion for our mission were unwavering, and we are proud to carry his belief and passion in each of us. We thank our incredible team, our trusted investors and the outstanding management teams with whom we have the privilege to work; your commitment, ambition and partnership are fundamental to everything we have achieved together and to our continued shared success.
