Allflex is the global leader in animal identification and monitoring technologies. It designs, produces and distributes products such as radio-frequency and visual identification tags, tissue sampling devices and health monitoring devices for livestock, pets, fish and other species.
We invested in Allflex in 2013 alongside another private equity fund. Our strategy was to capitalise on the commercial and regulatory requirements that were driving strong long-term growth, whilst expanding further into the adjacent animal intelligence market. This latter was achieved by the acquisition of SCR, a producer of smart tags for monitoring cow fertility and health, in 2015.
The successful execution of this strategy of growth and repositioning enabled us to exit in 2017.
