Appello is a leading technology-enabled care provider. The company offers housing, health and care providers as well as private individuals an end-to-end digital telecare system allowing the elderly and vulnerable to live independently in their own homes.

We acquired Appello, together with its sister company FirstPort, the UK’s leading property manager, in 2012 in a complex carve-out from a UK corporate which was in administration. The new company established to make the acquisition was called Knight Square.

At Appello’s core is the largest digital telemonitoring centre in the UK. We saw an opportunity to focus Appello by separating it from FirstPort and to build on this core by developing new digital product and service offerings. The company has successfully grown its telemonitoring business with new contract wins, has established itself as the market leader in digital in-home systems, and has completed three add-on acquisitions.
