ABOUT THE INVESTMENT

Treetops is the UK's fourth largest nursery school operator, providing education to more than 6,000 children at 61 schools.

We carved Treetops out of PINE Unit Trust, a property investment vehicle, in 2012 in order to bring focus to the company’s development. Our strategy was to accelerate growth by focusing on yield, operational management and add-on acquisitions. A rigorous focus on quality and a more sophisticated approach to sales and marketing increased organic growth above market levels. At the same time we led an M&A programme that doubled the company’s schools portfolio. Earnings more than quadrupled under our ownership.

We sold the business to a strategic buyer in 2017.
